Anna Kendrick watches as some friends load some furniture into her car at Ikea in Burbank, Calif., on Saturday afternoon.

The 24-year-old actress looked to be buying a bookshelf of some sort.

Anna’s Twi-costar Michael Welch recently caught up with MTV to rave about his friend’s recent Oscar nomination. Michael shared, “Anna deserves it. She has an uncanny ability to get under the skin of her characters. She really seems to understand the mindset of the girls she plays. It’s almost as if she starts out with clichés that we are all familiar with, then builds the character by figuring out their world view, making them unique and personal and therefore turning them from clichés into real people. Her characters are familiar, but one of a kind. It’s remarkable.”

Up In The Air star Anna Kendrick has revealed that she has known Adam Lambert since she was a teenager.

The actress, who has scooped a ‘Best Supporting Actress’ Oscar nomination for her role in the George Clooney-starring movie, discussed her friendship with Lambert on Ryan Seacrest’s KISS-FM show.

“We saw each other at party about a year ago and he told me, ‘You can’t tell anybody but I tried out for American Idol and I got through Hollywood Week,’” she said.

“I was like, ‘Okay! You can’t tell anybody but I just booked this movie with George Clooney!’ We didn’t see each other again for a year and finally we saw each other at the Critics’ Choice Awards and the SAG Awards. We were like, you know, it’s been quite a year for both of us.”

When asked if she would take Lambert to the Oscars, she replied: “Um, he’s a good time. He’s fun. He’s a really, really fun dude.”

Lambert congratulated Kendrick on his Twitter account yesterday, saying: “Congrats on your Oscar nom! Crazy! So, so proud.”

The 2010 Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, March 7 at Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre.

At just 24, Anna Kendrick has already shown impressive range, from Bella Swan’s twit friend Jessica in the Twilight saga to George Clooney’s buttoned-up colleague in Up in the Air. At age 12, the Maine native was nominated for a Tony Award, for her role in the 1998 musical High Society. After she auditioned for the role of Natalie in Up in the Air, she thought she’d tanked, given director Jason Reitman’s utter non-reaction. Turned out he’d written the role for her, after having seen her in the small high-school film Rocket Science. Next, she’ll star with Michael Cera and Jason Schwartzman in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
