Scott Pilgrim better keep in shape, because his upcoming battle against the world now has an official August release date.

Universal Pictures has updated the release date for director Edgar Wright’s “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World,” based on the Oni Press graphic novel series by Bryan Lee O’Malley. The film is now set to bow in theaters on August 13, 2010, featuring Michael Cera in the title role alongside a host of other notable actors including Brandon Routh, Jason Schwartzman, Chris Evans and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

MTV interviewed Anna at Golden Globes and she talked about her upcoming film Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World:

“I’ve seen it. It’s awesome,” said Kendrick when asked if she’s been one of the lucky few to have screened the film. “There’s nothing to compare it to. It’s like the energy from ‘Ferris Bueller’ and the action from ‘Kill Bill.’ It’s amazing.”

LOS ANGELES, CA: DGA President Taylor Hackford announced today that Carl Reiner will return as host for the 62nd Annual Directors Guild of America Awards. This year will mark the 22nd time Reiner has hosted the DGA Awards, which will take place on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
